Much
of the effectiveness of raw honey has been traced to
the bee pollen and propolis suspended within it.
From S. Mladenov of Bulgaria comes a report entitled
"Diseases of the Air Passages Treated With Honey."
According to the report, honey performed well against
a variety of respiratory problems, as follows:

| We found honey has bactericidal,
anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and expectorant
properties that insure the body an immunobiological
defense and give it the capacity to regenerate
attacked cells. |

| Of 17,862
patients treated with honey, 8,836 were men and 9,026
were women. Most of the patients ranged from 21 to 60
years old. After treatment, the results were: |

symptoms--64.41%; improved condition--23.50%;
temporary improvement--6.3%; no effect--5.69%. |
| Asthmatic
